About the role
An exciting opportunity is available for a Peer Worker to join the Community Mental Health Team in Bourke or Brewarrina.

Drawing on your lived experience of mental health challenges and personal recovery, you will provide meaningful peer support that promotes hope, resilience, and recovery for people accessing mental health services.

Working collaboratively with consumers, clinicians, local NGOs, and community agencies, you will encourage engagement in treatment and recovery planning while supporting activities that enhance mental health and wellbeing. This full-time role offers the opportunity to make a genuine difference in the lives of people within rural communities while contributing to a recovery-oriented and person-centred approach to care.

The position also supports the Local Health District's commitment to responding to the diverse needs of local communities and priority populations during times of disaster and rural adversity, in line with the Disaster Response and Recovery Model of Care.
