About the role
An exciting Clinical Nurse Consultant opportunity exists for someone with experience working beside people with an Intellectual Disability and can build relationships across our Local Health District with key stakeholders.

The Specialist Intellectual Disability Health team (SIDHT) is a multidisciplinary team consisting of Medical, Nursing, Social Work and Administration. The team is a full virtual service and provides tertiary level consultation service for people with and Intellectual Disability facing health needs not met by usual care.

The role enjoys building relationships with Health staff and services providers, internal and external to Health, to achieve equitable access to Health Care for people with Intellectual Disability.

A typical day may include patient intake and enquires, clinical consultation in multidisciplinary clinics, care navigation and care coordination and capacity building mainstream Health staff.

The successful applicant with work closely with the Specialist Intellectual Disability Health Team staff, mainstream Health staff across all disciplines in the Health District, general practice and non-government service providers.

The successful applicant will receive a structured orientation, clinical supervision and peer support from within the multidisciplinary team and CNCs across the SIDHTs in NSW. Ongoing supervision, professional development and wellbeing support will ensure growth and success in the role.
