About the role
In this role, you will join the Walgett Primary & Community Health as a Transitional Child & Family Health Nurse. You will be supported to complete a post-graduate qualification in Child & Family Health Nursing with on-the-job learning opportunities and mentorship by experienced Child and Family Health Nurses. This is a fantastic opportunity to step into a new role.
As custodians of the next generation in our region, our Child and Family Health nurses play a key role in the core goal of our Health District – healthier rural people and thriving communities. You’ll be in early contact with our families, providing services which may include comprehensive family assessment, monitoring growth and development of young children, education and support for parents, immunisations and referrals when necessary.
This is a rewarding role where you can be involved in people’s lives, not just their illnesses. You will need to have relevant post graduate qualifications or working towards, have sound interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate with a diverse range of people, the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of the multi-disciplinary health care team and to lead, supervise, delegate, and negotiate with others to deliver quality nursing care.
