About the role:
Forbes Hospital has a capacity of 27 beds and 2 birthing rooms. Of the 27 beds, three are maternity beds and two are high observation beds. The Emergency departments has five beds and one Resus Bay.
Forbes Health Service provides:
· 24-hour emergency care
· Acute and subacute inpatient services including medical, maternity, rehabilitation and palliative care
· Renal Dialysis
· Minor surgical plus D.O. surgery including endoscopy, Laparoscopic surgery, Gynaecology surgery, obstetrics, ophthalmology, colonoscopy and gastroscopy and after hour’s emergency surgery cover
· Hospital in the Home
· Diagnostic services including CT scanner, ultrasound, x-ray and pathology
· Outpatient services including infusion clinics
A range of primary and community health care and outreach services are provided to the surrounding villages including Healthy Lifestyles, child and family health nursing, dietetics, speech pathology, occupational therapy, psychology, social work, child protection, sexual assault service, Aboriginal health worker, palliative care, physiotherapy, community based nursing, women’s health nurse and various visiting specialists as well as mental health, drug and alcohol services.
There is a large number of visiting medical services.The Forbes Shire is one of the richest primary producing areas in NSW. Forbes enjoys a great location on the Newell Highway and is located 360 kms west of Sydney and 33 kms southwest of Parkes. Forbes is a picturesque town built around stunning Lake Forbes and on the banks of the Lachlan River offering

The Registered Nurse is an integral part of the multidisciplinary healthcare team providing nursing care to patients/clients of the health service; and leading, directing and supervising other nurses and care roles in the team, such as Enrolled Nurses (EN), Assistants in Nursing (AIN) and student Registered Nurses (RN), to support quality care for patients/clients.
As a Registered Nurse at Forbes Hospital, you will join a dynamic team of expert clinicians who provide patient centred care. Your role will add to this dynamic team.
· ALS Competent and/ or FLECC
· Triage Skills essential
· Rotating Roster including night shifts – In Charge
· Minimum 12 months ED experience
· Able to practice in accordance with your Scope of Clinical Practice
· Competent in collaborating with the MDT
· Understanding and ability to operate equipment within the Emergency Department Venepuncture and cannulation competent Incomplete forms will be returned.
· Ability to maintain functional relationships with team members
