About the role
This position provides an exciting opportunity for a Psychologist interested in working full-time, in a community mental health team, in particular those interested in working with our Adult population.
This position is open to provisional psychology applicant, registered psychologists, and senior psychologists.
The Cowra mental health team includes clinicians from nursing, and psychiatry backgrounds, with support from other professionals including peer workers and Aboriginal MH clinicians. The CAMHS Cowra clinician will be supported by Bathurst CAMHS.
The team prides itself on working collaboratively and together we maintain an excellent workplace culture of support and flexibility, while ensuring a high level of clinical care is provided.
The team meet every morning to review new referrals and plan the day. Clinicians will then see young people and their families, conducting mental health assessments, providing therapy and care planning for improved mental wellbeing.
The successful applicant will work closely with the team leader, the clinical leader, and the wider team. They will be also linked in with a clinical supervisor and professional mentor.
The successful applicant will engage in robust clinical and operational orientation to the role, including the development and implementation of an individualised professional development pathways. This plan will include the core skills required to undertake the role and the persons own developmental interests in the area of Psychology.
All staff have access to regular Clinical Supervision and discipline specific supervision and support, as well as daily multi-disciplinary case review meetings. The Cowra Community Mental Health Service values staff wellbeing and supports regular staff wellness activities to maintain positive workplace culture.
