About the role
This role provides clinical education, training and evaluation of skills and knowledge to promote and support improved Midwifery care. You’ll plan, deliver and evaluate clinical education programs to groups and individuals to contribute to the development of our Midwifery workforce, working collaboratively with staff and managers to identify and prioritise individual and unit learning needs.

You will show evidence of advanced Midwifery skills with demonstrated knowledge and skill using technology appropriate to the clinical area.

As an experienced educator with a sound understanding of learning and assessment principles gained from both experience and education, you will provide day to day and one-on-one clinical education along with inservices to meet team and individual learning needs, with a focus on new/ inexperienced staff.

Importantly, you will promote a culture of continuous learning and development within our Living Well Together framework, providing clinical leadership, including preceptorship, mentorship and role modelling, to support a collaborative approach to learning and development.

You will monitor and evaluate educational programs through clinical competency assessments within scope of role to monitor education gaps and ensure that clinical learning priorities are appropriately balanced with mandatory education requirements.  

You’ll also participate in the development and review of procedures and guidelines to improve the provision education advice and expertise.
