  1. Possess or eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia and possess Australian Citizenship or Permanent residency or eligible for same and Possess Fellowship of the Royal Australian & New Zealand College of Psychiatrists, or other equivalent specialist qualifications as provided by the NSW Staff Specialist Award, and with recognised specialist Child, Adolescent and Family psychiatry qualifications.
  2. Proven capacity and/or experience in the provision of effective high quality mental health services across the range of therapeutic modalities for children, adolescents and young persons with mental health concerns and their families/carers/social networks, including a commitment to person-centred, need adapted, recovery oriented, social network inclusive and trauma informed principles of care and demonstrate the ability to support and work collaboratively with interprofessional team members and with other teams and agencies external to the clinical team, in the provision of high quality therapeutic care that is sensitive to biological, psychological, social, cultural and spiritual domains.
  3. Demonstrated capacity to communicate, negotiate and collaborate at a high level, both verbally and in written form, and to helpfully engage with and negotiate conflict and difference.
  4. Experience with or proven capacity for activities that will improve the quality of service provision, including clinical governance and quality activities (such as audits and risk management activities), and appraisal of varying forms of evidence.
  5. Demonstrated skill and commitment to the teaching and supervision of medical staff and non-medical colleagues consistent with contemporary supervision and educational standards, to the support and education of medical students, and to the principles of interprofessional learning.
  6. Familiarity with and support of basic, clinical and applied research activities relevant to the needs of the Mental Health Service and its staff and the ability to draw on values and research concepts in the appraisal of evidence, guidelines and quality improvement activities.
  7. Qualities, skills, attitudes and articulated values consistent with a senior medical practitioner working with patients across the age span and their families/social networks, who provides leadership to fellow medical colleagues and who always demonstrates the highest ethical and professional standards.
  8. NSW Driver’s Licence or eligible for same within 12 months.
