CNC D&A Community Shared Care

1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse/Midwife, Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia.

2. Minimum 5 years full time equivalent post graduate qualification experience and a post graduate qualification in the field of Drug and Alcohol clinical practice or other qualifications or experience relevant to the Drug and Alcohol speciality.

3. Proven clinical leadership skills, and an ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary framework with a demonstrated commitment to excellence in nursing practice in the D&A field.

4. Demonstrated effective communication and inter-personal skills across a variety of mediums and knowledge of the practice development framework to clinical practice.

5. Demonstrated involvement in the development/change of clinical practice underpinned by evidence based research relevant to Drug and Alcohol clinical practice.

6. Demonstrated ability to contribute to strategic and clinical service planning and an ability to identify and improve opportunities to enhance continuity of care between the acute sector, primary care providers and community based services.

7. Proven skills in clinical teaching, the identification of education needs in the Drug and Alcohol clinical area, and competency in the use of contemporary information systems.

8. Demonstrated high level clinical skills in D&A assessment, withdrawal, opioid and other pharmacotherapies, psychosocial interventions, treatment planning for patients with complex presentations and ability to apply clinical expertise in client-centred consultancy with the ability to work independently.
