About The Opportunity 
Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals are recruiting for a Visiting Medical Officer to complement and enhance the current Cardiology Department.

What You'll be doing 
The position will provide complex cardiac device implantation within the cardiac catheter laboratories in addition to diagnostic and interventive Electrophysiology procedures. The position will be responsible for the running of the pacemaker clinic and remote monitoring service, in addition to clinical management and treatment of patients under your care in a South West Sydney Local Health District (SWSLHD) facility or service. This care will be provided within the scope of practice endorsed by the SWSLHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee (MDAAC).

Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals, part of the South Western Sydney Local Health District, work together to provide comprehensive healthcare services to the Macarthur region.

Campbelltown Hospital, a leading tertiary facility, offers a wide range of services including cardiology, maternity, palliative care, respiratory medicine, emergency medicine, and aged-care services. It also features specialised Mental Health and Cancer facilities. Camden Hospital complements these services by specialising in care for older persons with acute or chronic health conditions, including rehabilitation, palliative care, geriatric evaluation and management, and psychogeriatric care.

 

 The hospitals share a close-knit, community-focused team dedicated to delivering safe, quality, and compassionate care. The ongoing multi-million dollar redevelopment at Campbelltown Hospital will further enhance its capabilities, introducing advanced equipment and amenities.

 

Together, these sister hospitals ensure that the diverse needs of the community are met with excellence and innovation in healthcare.

1. Current medical practitioner, registered, or eligible for registration, with the Medical Board of Australia and Fellow of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians and/or other specialist recognition as provided under the Staff Specialists (State) Award. 
 
2. Demonstrated current clinical practice of a high standard and ability to adapt clinical practice in accordance with contemporary evidence based best practice. 
 
3. Demonstrated commitment to quality improvement, patient safety and risk management. 
 
4. Demonstrated participation in teaching and training at undergraduate and/or post graduate level, including supervision of junior medical staff. 
 
5. Demonstrated commitment to continuing self-education and development, including evidence of participation in continuing medical education/ continuing professional development. 
 
6. Demonstrated ability to comply with the service objectives of a public health organisation, including the provision of services to the local community, effective utilisation of resources, and preparedness to participate in the provision of health services at an LHD level. 
 
7. Preparedness to participate in a hospital, service or LHD on-call roster. 
 
8. Evidence of ability to work cooperatively with other staff and practitioners and in a multidisciplinary health care team.
