Join South Western Sydney Local Health District as a Security Officer and play a vital role in keeping our hospitals safe, secure, and welcoming. Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you’ll assist patients, visitors, and staff while helping prevent, identify, and respond to incidents across a fast‑paced healthcare environment.
This role offers variety, responsibility, and purpose. From customer service and patrols to emergency response and critical incident support, you’ll help protect people, property, and wellbeing—delivering calm, professional, and respectful security services where it matters most.
As a Security Officer with South Western Sydney Local Health District, you’ll deliver highly visible security services through foot and vehicle patrols and control room operations, helping to maintain a safe and secure hospital environment for staff, patients, and visitors across the campus.
You’ll play a key role in conflict resolution and emergency response, responding calmly and professionally to incidents, alarms, and critical situations, and working closely with clinical and operational teams to prevent escalation and ensure safety at all time

Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.
- Current NSW Security Licence in accordance with the NSW Security Industry 1997 Class 1A, First Aid Certification and Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
- Sound understanding of the application of security techniques including conflict resolution skills, de-escalation and restraint practices. Give examples.
- What is your availability to work 12hr day & night shifts?
- Give examples of oral communication skills to enable sound team work in an often challenging work environment.
