Bankstown Hospital’s recruitment for a Registered Nurse within the Older Persons Behavioural Unit offers a meaningful opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of older patients with complex behavioural needs.

The ideal candidate for this role is a Registered Nurse who demonstrates strong clinical capability alongside emotional resilience when caring for patients with complex behavioural needs.

  • Communicates effectively and works well within a team 
  • Delivers care with empathy, respect, and a person-centred approach

Selection Criteria 
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below. 

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Demonstrated recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an environment appropriate to the relevant speciality.
  3. Demonstrated ability to provide safe compassionate quality care that is culturally responsive.
  4. Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and engage with patients/consumers, carers and the multidisciplinary health care team to identify and ensure responsiveness of care needs
  5. Demonstrated capacity to interact with others in a personable and professional manner and personally resolve conflicts when they arise.
  6. Demonstrated evidence of the use of critical thinking as it relates to the delivery of evidenced based nursing care.
  7. Demonstrated understanding and participation in risk management, work health and safety and quality improvement in the workplace.
