About the Opportunity

South Western Sydney Local Health District is seeking a motivated and experienced Occupational Therapist to take on a pivotal Team Leader role across Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals. This Level 4 position offers the opportunity to guide a high-performing team, influence service delivery, and contribute to the strategic direction of occupational therapy in acute settings.

As Team Leader, you’ll oversee staffing, rotations, and service planning, ensuring resources are aligned with patient needs and clinical priorities. You’ll represent occupational therapy on key committees, contribute to service redesign, and collaborate with leadership to implement evidence-based models of care. Your role will be central to evaluating clinical outcomes, driving quality improvement initiatives, and supporting the development of future service frameworks.

What You'll be Doing
The Team Leader is responsible for the leadership, guidance and line management of the Acute Services team in collaboration with their manager.

They provide clinical supervision and support and clinical expertise within occupational therapy services for the delivery of safe, timely, compassionate and high quality person-centred care. They are involved in planning, implementing, evaluating and reporting on services. They identify opportunities for improvement in clinical practice, service delivery, develop and lead ongoing quality improvement activities with other staff.

Campbelltown and Camden Hospitals, part of the South Western Sydney Local Health District, work together to provide comprehensive healthcare services to the Macarthur region.

Campbelltown Hospital, a leading tertiary facility, offers a wide range of services including cardiology, maternity, palliative care, respiratory medicine, emergency medicine, and aged-care services. It also features specialised Mental Health and Cancer facilities. Camden Hospital complements these services by specialising in care for older persons with acute or chronic health conditions, including rehabilitation, palliative care, geriatric evaluation and management, and psychogeriatric care.

The hospitals share a close-knit, community-focused team dedicated to delivering safe, quality, and compassionate care. The ongoing multi-million dollar redevelopment at Campbelltown Hospital will further enhance its capabilities, introducing advanced equipment and amenities.

Together, these sister hospitals ensure that the diverse needs of the community are met with excellence and innovation in healthcare.

  1. Recognised Degree in Occupational Therapy or other qualification deemed appropriate by the employer, with registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
  2. Demonstrated high level clinical expertise and knowledge of a wide range of clinical conditions in Occupational Therapy Acute Services.
  3. Demonstrated experience leading quality improvement processes and involvement in service evaluation and development.
  4. Demonstrated experience implementing evidence into practice and knowledge and/or experience in research.
  5. Excellent time management skills and an ability to work independently and as part of a multidisciplinary team.
  6. Demonstrated experience in the management, clinical supervision and mentoring of staff and/or students.
  7. Demonstrated leadership skills with the ability to effectively adapt to ongoing change to achieve health service outcomes.
  8. Demonstrated excellent verbal and written communication skills including interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills and computer literacy in a range of programs.
  9. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
