Senior Leadership Opportunity

We are seeking an exceptional Nurse Manager (Grade 4) to lead our high-performing Emergency Department, providing strategic direction, clinical oversight, and compassionate leadership in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

In this senior leadership role, you will be responsible for managing nursing services to ensure the delivery of safe, high-quality, and person-centred care. You will lead by example, upholding professional standards and ethical practice, while mentoring and developing staff to achieve excellence.

Bringing extensive emergency nursing experience, you’ll demonstrate advanced clinical judgement, strong leadership, and a proven ability to manage resources, safety, and performance. Your exceptional communication skills, collaborative approach, and ability to lead through complexity will be key to fostering a positive, high-functioning team culture.

The Nurse Manager participates in or is responsible for the leadership and management of nursing services in a management unit, service, complex function or facility to ensure the delivery of high quality patient care and efficient use of resources..

  1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Relevant post graduate qualifications or equivalent work experience or a combination of study and experience deemed appropriate by SWSLHD.
  2. Demonstrated senior nursing leadership experience, including the ability to lead staff, manage services in a relevant clinical setting, and navigate complex operational
  3. Proven ability to manage human, financial, and physical resources to deliver safe, high-quality, culturally responsive care aligned with service goals and patient needs and financial responsibility.
  4. Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively engage with patients, families, and multidisciplinary teams, represent the nursing service, and manage conflict and performance issues professionally.
  5. Demonstrated strategic thinking and operational capability, including the use of critical thinking in planning, goal setting, and policy development, and active participation in organisational change, risk management, WHS, and quality improvement initiatives.
