- Senior Psychologist : $2,470.99 - $2,677.57 per week
In addition to base salary, all roles attract 12% Superannuation + Salary Packaging

Lead a dedicated specialist team that makes a lasting difference in the lives of children, young people, and families affected by trauma, abuse, neglect, and family violence.
As Head of Department, Child Protection Counselling Service (CPCS), you will provide clinical and operational leadership to a highly skilled multidisciplinary team delivering trauma-informed, evidence-based therapeutic services across South Western Sydney.
This is a unique opportunity for an experienced clinician and leader to shape service delivery, drive clinical excellence, and contribute to improved safety, wellbeing, and recovery outcomes for vulnerable children and families. We are seeking an experienced and inspiring clinical leader with a passion for child protection, trauma & violence informed care, and service excellence.
You will bring:
- Demonstrated leadership experience within counselling, psychology, social work, welfare, child protection, mental health, or related services.
- Advanced clinical skills and experience working with children, young people, and families impacted by trauma, abuse, neglect, and family violence.
- The ability to lead, mentor, and develop multidisciplinary teams while fostering a positive and supportive workplace culture.
- Strong stakeholder engagement skills and the ability to build effective partnerships across health, government, and community services.
- Sound judgement, strategic thinking, and a commitment to continuous service improvement and evidence-based practice.
A genuine commitment to child safety, cultural responsiveness, and delivering person-centred care.

Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.
- A Social Work degree which provides eligibility for membership of the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW), or as otherwise deemed appropriate by employer or (b) Full registration as a Psychologist with the Psychology Board of Australia. Completion of four-year sequence of accredited undergraduate study in the discipline of psychology (or equivalent completed overseas).
- Describe a time when you led and managed a team through a significant challenge or change. What was your approach, how did you support staff performance and wellbeing, and what was the outcome?
- Describe your experience leading a child protection, counselling, or related service. How have you applied your knowledge of violence, abuse and neglect, and child protection legislation, to support effective service delivery and decision-making?
Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
