Achieve Something Great

Join our Neurosurgery and Plastics team as a Clinical Nurse Educator, leading practical, ward‑based education that strengthens safe post‑operative care. You will support staff through orientation, coaching and capability building, while working closely with NUMs, CNCs and the multidisciplinary team to enhance clinical skills, teamwork and patient outcomes. This role suits an educator who enjoys a dynamic surgical environment and is passionate about developing others.

Are You the Right Fit?

  • Clinically confident in neurosurgery and/or plastics, including neuro observations, escalation, and complex wound/flap monitoring.
  • Supportive, approachable educator who builds staff capability through practical, bedside teaching and fosters a safe learning culture.
  • Collaborative communicator who works effectively with the multidisciplinary team and contributes to high‑quality, patient‑centred care.

Selection Criteria

To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.

  1. Describe your recent clinical experience in neurosurgery and/or plastics. Include key skills such as neurological observations, escalation for deterioration, wound or flap monitoring, and how you ensure safe, evidence‑based post‑operative care.

  2. Explain how you collaborate with NUMs, CNCs, medical and allied health teams to support staff learning and improve care within a busy surgical environment. Provide an example that demonstrates effective communication and teamwork.

  3. Provide an example of an education or coaching initiative you have delivered. What was the learning need, what did you implement (e.g., bedside teaching, orientation, simulation), and what impact did it have on staff capability or patient outcomes?
