In this role, you’ll work with infants, children, and young people aged 0–18 and their families, supported by a long-term contract and a multidisciplinary team of Child and Family Health Nurses, Social Workers, and an Aboriginal Health Worker. Are You the Right Fit?
As a Child and Family Health Nurse, you will provide safe, compassionate, quality, person-centred care and work collaboratively with families and a multidisciplinary team to achieve positive outcomes for children living in out-of-home care (OOHC). You’ll adopt a trauma-informed and family-sensitive approach, ensuring services are welcoming, safe, and responsive to the needs of children, young people, and families who have experienced trauma. Your ability to work within this framework and deliver holistic care will play a key role in improving health and wellbeing for vulnerable communities.
Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.
1. Current Authority to Practice as a Registered Nurse with Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Child and Family Health qualification – Graduate Certificate OR willing to complete within 12 months of appointment
2. Demonstrated recent experience as a Registered Nurse in an environment appropriate to Child and Family Nursing
3. Demonstrated understanding of the needs of children and young people in OOHC and the impact of abuse, trauma and neglect on children and young people
4. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
