About The Opportunity
The Workforce Team at Mental Health Services, South Western Sydney Local Health District, is seeking a highly capable, collaborative, and efficient Administration Officer to join our team and support our administrative functions. 

We are looking for a confident, personable and dedicated administration officer who has proven experience in areas such as data entry, report production and minute taking. You will have a professional phone manner and be supportive of a range of managers. The role will require a dynamic skill set and you will be a strong collaborator. Your efficiency and accuracy will assist you in providing quality advice to managers and ensure there is ongoing improvement in the team. This is a great opportunity to gain valuable experience in areas such as recruitment, staffing and rostering as well as assisting with payroll queries. What You'll Be Doing
The purpose of this position is to assist and provide operational support to the Nurse Manager Workforce and Recruitment, Mental Health with administration, nursing workforce and recruitment matters. The CSO will provide timely and accurate administrative and transactional services for members of the health care team to support the provision of clinical services under the direction of the nursing manager. The CSO will work under broad supervision but will be required to take some application of established work practices and procedures. Decisions affecting the overall functioning and management of the ward/unit remain the responsibility of the NM.

SWSLHD Inpatient Mental Health Services provide comprehensive care across several facilities, including the newly redeveloped Campbelltown Hospital and Liverpool Hospital. These services offer a safe and therapeutic environment for individuals with acute and non-acute mental health needs.

The multidisciplinary teams, consisting of professionals with diverse mental health expertise, deliver exceptional care through specialised units such as the Mental Health Intensive Care Unit, Adult Acute Unit, and Older People's Mental Health Unit. The service is committed to patient safety and high-quality care, maintaining external accreditation with the Australian Council on Healthcare Standards.

  1. Holds or is willing to undertake a Certificate III in Health Administration or equivalent
  2. Demonstrated experience performing a wide range of administrative tasks.
  3. Demonstrated experience managing competing work priorities and workflow within allocated resources and timeframes.
  4. Highly developed interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience responding and managing complex and challenging enquiries.
  5. Highly developed written and verbal communication skills with an emphasis on accuracy and attention to detail.
  6. Demonstrated ability to efficiently use computer office packages including Microsoft Word, Excel and Microsoft teams as well as experience in other systems such as HR systems, purchasing, rostering and recruitment.
  7. Demonstrated proficiency in secretariat duties for committees including minute taking of meetings and preparation of agendas.
  8. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
