About the Opportunity
Liverpool Hospital is recruiting a Sterilisation Technician to join our high-performing Sterile Services Department. In this essential role, you’ll be responsible for to support our Operating Theatres, and support Wards, and Clinics. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment with clear pathways for professional development, including progression to a Senior Sterilisation Technician role.
What You'll be Doing
The purpose of Grade 1 Sterilisation Technician is to provide a quality customer service by undertaking the operational activities performed by the Sterilising Services Department, for the process of reusable medical devices in accordance with AS/NZS4187:2014. This position requires good work ethics, commitment to future professional development and ability to follow instructions under routine supervision.

Liverpool Hospital, founded in 1813, is the major health service for south-western Sydney, offering a wide range of state-wide services including critical care and trauma, neonatal intensive care, and brain injury rehabilitation. As a key teaching facility for UNSW Sydney and Western Sydney University, it provides extensive clinical services, including emergency care, cancer treatment, paediatrics, and mental health services. The hospital features 23 operating theatres and has a capacity for 877 beds.

- Good understanding of Infection Prevention and Control and WH&S requirements.
- Demonstrated ability to work as an integral team member under the supervision and guidance of a Staff Supervisor.
- Willing to develop professionally, accept constructive criticism and competency assessment for tasks performed as a Sterilisation Technician.
- Ability to work in a busy environment with changing priorities.
- Commitment to providing a quality customer service by ensuring a focused approach for best practice and patient outcomes.
- Sound communication ability with a high standard of written and verbal skills to ensure effective listening, understanding and following direction.
- Basic computer skills with ability to learn electronic tracking and Health related programs.
- On completion of training and competency assessment, ability to work a rotating roster, including weekends and Public Holidays for the provision of a 7 day service to the Peri-Operative Services Department.
