About the Opportunity
Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital is seeking a passionate and experienced Oncology Social Worker to lead and manage the delivery of psychosocial services within Cancer Services. This permanent leadership role is responsible for overseeing a team of Social Work staff, ensuring high-quality, patient-centred care for individuals and families navigating cancer treatment. The position will provide professional guidance, clinical supervision, and service development in alignment with SWSLHD policies, standards, and the NSW Health Code of Conduct.
As a senior member of the Social Work Department, you will contribute to quality improvement initiatives, lead specific projects, and support human resource functions including mentoring Level 1–2 staff. With a experience in hospital or oncology settings, you’ll bring advanced clinical skills, strong communication, and a commitment to advocacy and holistic care. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful impact while shaping the future of oncology social work in a diverse and inclusive healthcare environment.
This position is responsible for providing professional leadership and team management to Social Work staff located within the Oncology Department of Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital.
The position is expected to provide leadership in quality activities, manage specific projects, and assist in human resource management and other relevant departmental administrative duties.
Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital is located in the city of Bankstown and is in one of the most multicultural local government areas (LGA) in Australia. This hospital has tertiary affiliations with three universities and offers a range of roles and experiences to employees.
