About the Opportunity

This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced and motivated Occupational Therapist to lead the acute care team at Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital. In this leadership role, you will oversee the delivery of high-quality, evidence-based occupational therapy services across orthopaedics, intensive care, medical, and surgical wards. You’ll provide clinical supervision, support complex discharge planning, and work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams to ensure timely, person-centred care. Your expertise will help shape service delivery and uphold professional standards in a fast-paced, dynamic hospital environment.

As the Acute Team Leader, you’ll also play a key role in mentoring staff, driving quality improvement initiatives, and contributing to workforce development. This position offers the opportunity to influence clinical governance, participate in service planning, and support innovation in acute care occupational therapy. What You'll be Doing

The senior occupational therapist provides clinical governance, leadership and expertise within occupational therapy services including the provision of safe, timely, compassionate and high quality person-centered care.

Bankstown-Lidcombe Hospital is located in the city of Bankstown and is in one of the most multicultural local government areas (LGA) in Australia. This hospital has tertiary affiliations with three universities and offers a range of roles and experiences to employees.

The hospital receives highly diverse presentations in ED as well as having general medical and surgical services and sub-specialty services across the hospital.   1. Demonstrated advanced clinical skills and significant experience in the provision of occupational therapy services within Acute Services.
  2. Demonstrated experience in the identification of evidence based practice and/or development of treatment protocols.
  3. 4.Demonstrated experience participating in the planning, implementation and evaluation of local service delivery incorporating the quality improvement process.
  4. Demonstrated high level organisational and time management skills.
  5. Demonstrated experience in the provision of clinical supervision, mentoring of staff and/or students.
  6. Excellent written and verbal communication skills and computer literacy in a range of programs.
  7. Applicants must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
