The Mental Health NDIS Clinical Coordinator is a high‑impact senior role that leads and empowers teams across South Western Sydney to deliver timely, high‑quality NDIS support for people with psychosocial disability. You’ll be the district’s go‑to expert on the NDIS, strengthening clinical capability through specialist advice, education, and strategic guidance.As the key link between the Mental Health Service and the NDIS, you’ll help staff navigate complex processes, resolve barriers to discharge and funded supports, and build confidence in working with the NDIS Quality and Safeguards Commission. You’ll also provide leadership to the NDIS Mental Health Officer and drive improvements to systems and pathways that enhance the consumer experience. - Bring deep experience as a senior mental health clinician with strong knowledge of both the NDIS and public mental health systems.
- Navigate complexity with ease, using sound clinical judgement and advanced problem‑solving skills to move through challenges confidently.
- Communicate with impact, translating complex NDIS requirements into clear, practical guidance for frontline teams.
- Lead collaboratively, building strong relationships, supporting staff through change, and escalating systemic issues when needed.
- Care about what matters, driven by a genuine commitment to improving outcomes and ensuring people receive the supports they need to live safely, independently, and with dignity.
Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.
- Relevant qualifications as an Occupational Therapy and currently registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) or qualified Social Worker eligible for registration with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW).
- Describe a time when you led or significantly contributed to improving NDIS navigation processes or interagency collaboration within a mental health or disability service. What challenges did you identify, what actions did you take, and what were the outcomes for consumers or the service?
- Provide an example of when you identified NDIS related barriers impacting a consumer’s care, safety, or discharge from a mental health unit. How did you assess the clinical risks, support staff, and escalate concerns to agencies such as the NDIA or relevant stakeholders?
- Tell us about a capacity building or quality improvement initiative you have led that strengthened staff understanding of the NDIS or improved service delivery for consumers with psychosocial disability. What role did you play, and how did you measure success?
Do you have a current Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2)? if you hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
