Join a dedicated team at Bowral Hospital where you’ll play a vital role in supporting patient care, maintaining safety, and contributing to a secure and well‑functioning hospital environment. 

  • Support patient care delivery — Assist nursing staff with patient comfort, mobility, pre‑operative preparation, and reporting observations to ensure high‑quality care. 
  • Provide safe patient transport — Porter patients across the facility for ward transfers, appointments, and procedures, supporting efficient bed flow and access to services. 
  • Maintain ward and facility operations — Contribute to smooth ward functioning by moving equipment, making unoccupied beds, supporting cleaning tasks, and adhering to manual handling and infection control standards. 
  • Respond to security and emergency situations — Assist with de‑escalation or restraint when required, conduct internal and external patrols, monitor CCTV, and support responses to all emergency codes. 
  • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team — Communicate effectively with patients, staff, and visitors, contribute to a positive team environment, and uphold professionalism in high‑pressure or challenging situations.

Selection Criteria 
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below. 

  • Must hold a current Class 1A Security License with the NSW Security Industry 1997 Class 1A, Current First Aid Certificate and must possess an Australian C-Class driver's license (including P1 or P2). Those who hold a C class license (P1 or P2 included) from a state other than NSW must obtain a NSW C class (P1 or P2 included) license within three months of appointment. Learner's licenses are not permitted.
  • Describe a situation where you were required to manage a challenging or high‑risk interaction (e.g. an aggressive person, a distressed client, or a volatile environment). In your response, outline how you applied conflict resolution, de‑escalation, and safe restraint practices, as well as how you ensured the safety of yourself and others.
  • Provide an example of a time you were required to follow strict procedures while working as part of a multidisciplinary team. Include how you demonstrated safe manual handling or infection control, used computer or electronic security systems, took direction from supervisors, and communicated effectively with staff or the public.
  • Are you aware of and acknowledge that this position requires the ability to work a 7-day rotating roster, covering mornings/afternoons/nights, weekends and Public Holidays?
