Employment Type: Temporary Part-Time, minimum 30 hours per week until January 2029 . Temporary roles are available to visa holders, with contracts issued in accordance with visa conditions. Visa holders will be considered where no suitable Australian citizen or permanent resident is identified.
Remuneration: $59.59 - $72.64 per hour+ 12% Superannuation + Salary Packaging

Join a dedicated inpatient psychology team and make a meaningful difference in the lives of consumers experiencing complex mental health challenges. Working within a collaborative multidisciplinary environment, you'll have the opportunity to provide specialised psychological support while contributing to high-quality, recovery-focused care.
- Provide one-on-one psychological interventions to consumers with severe mental health concerns and/or challenging behaviours within an inpatient setting; unit, prioritising support for those admitted to specialist adolescent unit.
- Contribute to clinical assessments for diagnostic clarification and support behavioural management planning.
- Work collaboratively with nurses, psychiatrists, social workers, occupational therapists, and diversional therapists to deliver integrated care.
- Engage in psychology-specific projects and professional collaboration opportunities with psychologist colleagues across mental health services.

We are seeking a Clinical Psychologist who is passionate about supporting young people experiencing complex mental health challenges and thrives in a collaborative inpatient setting. This role will suit a flexible and proactive clinician who can work effectively in a dynamic environment while delivering evidence-based psychological care.
- Experience working as a Clinical Psychologist with young people aged 13 to 17 years.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support positive consumer outcomes.
- Confidence working in a dynamic, fast-paced inpatient mental health environment.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to respond effectively to complex and changing clinical presentations.
Selection Criteria
To help us assess your suitability for the role, please tell us as much as you can about yourself in response to the questions below.
- Full registration with the Psychology Board of Australia (PBA) with Endorsement in Clinical or Forensic Psychology, along with a minimum two year Full-time equivalent APAC accredited postgraduate Clinical Psychology qualification (or eligibility to progress to same by Dec 2026/January 2027).
- Please describe a young person with complex mental health needs that you have assessed and treated. Briefly describe the assessment process, the case formulation, and the evidence-based intervention that you provided. What was the outcome?
- Describe a time you worked with multiple stakeholders who had different priorities or perspectives. Please describe the steps you took to manage the situation, challenges managed, and the outcome for the patient or service.
Please outline how you have demonstrated effective time management skills, prioritising clinical workload, and demonstrated independent judgement in the delivery of care for consumers.
