Do you want to make a real difference in the lives of young people and their families? At Central Coast Local Health District (CCLHD), we are committed to Trusted Care, Better Health for Everyone, and we are looking for a passionate Youth Mental Health Clinician to join our CAMHS team.


About the Opportunity

As an Under 12's Youth Mental Health Clinician, you will deliver specialist evidence-based care to young people experiencing moderate to severe mental health challenges. Working within a supportive multidisciplinary team, you will provide assertive outreach, intensive case management, and trauma-informed therapeutic interventions to improve outcomes for young people and their families. 

This role plays a vital part in promoting recovery, continuity of care, and early intervention. In this role you will:

  • Provide assertive outreach, rapid assessment, and case management for young people and their carers.
  • Deliver trauma-informed, recovery-focused individual therapy using evidence-based approaches.
  • Work collaboratively with families and carers, ensuring their involvement in assessments, care planning, and reviews.
  • Liaise with internal and external stakeholders including mental health services, GPs, schools, and community organisations.
  • Participate in case conferences and multidisciplinary team meetings to support coordinated care.
  • Maintain accurate, timely, and confidential clinical documentation.
  • Support continuity of care through effective care and discharge planning.

This position is graded for the following:

  • Clinical Midwife Specialist Grade 2.
  • Clinical Nurse Specialist Grade 2.
  • Clinical Psychologist.
  • Senior Psychologist.
  • Counsellor Level 3.
  • Occupational Therapist Level 3.
  • Social Worker Level 3.
  • Welfare Officer Level 3.

About You

We are looking for a dedicated and adaptable clinician who has:

  • Relevant qualifications in a clinical discipline (e.g. Nursing, Psychology, Social Work, Occupational Therapy) and current professional registration (e.g. AHPRA where applicable), as well as a valid NSW driver's license and willingness to work across multiple sites across the Central Coast.
  • At least 3 years’ post-registration experience in a mental health or child and adolescent mental health setting.
  • Demonstrated experience in crisis intervention and working with young people with complex mental health needs.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with young people, families, and stakeholders.
  • Experience working both independently and within a multidisciplinary team.
