Selection Criteria:

  1. Evidence of a Medical Qualification and Registered with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA). Evidence of relevant senior experience and recency of practice within Emergency Medicine. Minimum of 5 years’ postgraduate experience and 3 years’ experience in Emergency Medicine in Australia or equivalent setting. Additional qualifications in Emergency Medicine desirable.

  2. Demonstrated high level, effective clinical communication through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
  3. Demonstrated significant experience relevant to Emergency Medicine practice and evidence of competence in skills relevant to Australian rural hospital practice, including trauma and emergency scenarios.

  4. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team, build collaborative partnerships and provide leadership of a team.

  5. Demonstrated commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching of medical, nursing and allied health professionals and to continuing self-education, research and quality improvement.

  6. Demonstrated commitment to patient safety.

  7. Demonstrated commitment to behaviours which align to the NSW Health CORE values and SNSWLHD Values, goals and strategies.

  8. Commitment to participate in an equitable medical roster, including evenings, nights and weekend shifts.

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases

This is a Category ‘A’ position, please read and understand NSW Health policy directive PD2024_015. All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. OASV requirements also include proof of vaccination against influenza and is compulsory for NSW Staff that enter any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) or who work in NSW Health owned and operated RACFs.
