What you'll be doing
The Occupational Therapist Discipline Advisor provides high level advice pertaining to occupational therapy service delivery, workforce planning and governance, and support for operational managers and occupational therapists to promote the provision of equitable, sustainable and high quality services to communities across Southern NSW Local Health District.
Selection Criteria
- Current Registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as an Occupational Therapist.
- Extensive experience in providing leadership to allied health discipline/teams, including the ability to coordinate and lead service development, workforce planning and guide best practice.
- Demonstrated knowledge of contemporary issues relating to the delivery of discipline/allied health services, and the ability to lead service improvement across community and acute care settings.
- Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills including interpersonal, negotiation and consultation skills and ability to develop and maintain collaborative relationships with internal and external partners.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision, managing competing priorities and meeting deadlines.
- High level strategic, conceptual, analytical and creative skills, along with the ability to provide high level advice and contribute to policy and planning processes and the implementation of strategic service delivery initiatives.
- Current unrestricted drivers’ licence and the ability to maintain. Ability and willingness to drive/travel as the role requires. This may involve driving long distances.

Occupational Assessment, Screening and Vaccination against Specific Diseases
This is a Category ‘A’ position, please read and understand NSW Health policy directive PD2024_015 All new employees must agree to comply with the requirements outlined in this policy. OASV requirements also include proof of vaccination against influenza and is compulsory for NSW Staff that enter any Residential Aged Care Facility (RACF) or who work in NSW Health owned and operated RACFs.
