About the Role

Formed in 1882, Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) is a major metropolitan tertiary referral hospital and a principal provider of specialist healthcare. It remains one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities.
 
The Ward Assistant provides assistance to Nurses, Midwives and other staff in clinical units to ensure overall functioning of the service. This is a support role with a scope of duties that encompasses tidying, cleaning, stocking and errands as required.

Ideal Candidate

  • Ability to maintain safe work practice, adhering to WHS policies and procedures.
  • Awareness of Infection Control principles and Manual Handling principles.
  • Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively with others.
