You will be working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH). The Haematology Clinical Trials Unit at RPAH is seeking a skilled Technical Officer to provide essential laboratory support across our clinical trials program. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a structured, fast-paced environment and understands the critical importance of accuracy, traceability and compliance in specimen handling.
We’re looking for a collaborative team member with strong technical capability and sound judgement, who can confidently manage specimen processing, tracking, storage and shipment in line with study protocols, Good Laboratory Practice and IATA requirements. You’ll play a key role in maintaining laboratory operations and enabling high-quality, patient-focused research that makes a real difference.

Ideal Candidate
- Minimum qualification of Diploma in Laboratory Technology or an equivalent qualification from a recognised tertiary institution with subjects relevant to pathology or medical laboratory operations.
- Experience in pathology services, sample management (collection, processing and shipping) and safe laboratory working procedures.
- Interpersonal skills preferably in a clinical environment, including the ability to communicate effectively with team members, patients, sponsors and clinical staff.
- Has initiative, problem solving and analytical skills including an ability to apply established principles in a pathology laboratory and investigate and resolve general and complex issues within the laboratory environment.
