About the Role 

Concord Centre for Mental Health is committed to improving mental health for people and our communities by providing quality mental health services in partnership with consumers, families and service providers by providing quality healthcare, delivery of safe appropriate care, ensuring access to services, supporting our workforce, and working closely with the local community to manage the changing demand for services. 

This MOH funded (SLHD hosted) Statewide Speech Pathology role as part of The Pathways to Community Living Initiative (PCLI) provides specialist clinical Speech Pathology support and strategic leadership to districts across NSW for the PCLI program. The role will require close liaison with the Ministry of Health and PCLI program managers/coordinators statewide to support the development of the MOC for PCLI Specialist Living Supports program, building capacity of the PCLI workforce incorporating sustainability strategies.

The role will include providing specialist speech pathology intervention including assessments and groups, for inpatients at CCMH on the long stay units of Kirkbride and Broughton. Additionally, the position will work with (both in person and virtually) other districts in NSW to conduct consultative Speech Pathology intervention and strategies, as well as training/capacity building with other PCLI/mental health rehabilitation teams.

Ideal Candidate

  • Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge, skill, and significant clinical experience in the provision of Speech Pathology in a mental health setting.
  • Demonstrated high level written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage competing demands and independently problem solve.
