About the Role 

The Cancer Teletrials Start-Up Specialist position is an exciting opportunity for a person interested in health equity and improving patient outcomes. We are seeking a dynamic and experienced clinical trials professional to lead the establishment of cancer teletrials across Sydney Local Health District (SLHD). Working closely with the Director of Cancer Services and Palliative Care, you will coordinate study start-up activities to expand access to world-class cancer clinical trials for patients in rural and regional NSW. 

  

This senior role has a strong focus on understanding the current environment for clinical trials and teletrials across SLHD and rural and regional sites; developing a practical implementation plan; identifying gaps; and addressing staff training needs and other requirements. You will play a pivotal role in shaping innovative models of care, building collaborative networks, and ensuring delivery of high-quality, compliant trials that align with our organisation’s strategic objectives.

Ideal Candidate

  • Appropriate tertiary qualification and/or demonstrated relevant equivalent professional experience in a clinical research environment.
  • Extensive experience managing clinical trials studies and thorough knowledge of clinical trial regulations, legislation and ICH-GCP Guidelines with strong problem solving, analytical and numeracy skills to develop, implement and monitor clinical trial budgets.
  • High-level communication and interpersonal skills; extensive experience in communicating complex research or clinical ideas/concepts to a diverse audience; experience in negotiating complex contractual agreements with internal and external stakeholders.
