What you'll be doing
 The Digital Health group within the Sydney Children’s Hospitals Network (SCHN) works collaboratively and proactively with stakeholders to provide flexible, responsive and innovative Information, Communication and Technology (ICT). 
 The Senior Systems Engineer is primarily responsible for supporting and managing the SCHN on-premises and cloud services infrastructure systems and servers.  This includes planning, designing, supporting, installing and maintaining the delivery infrastructure to ensure high quality IT services for a wide range of SCHN Services. 
 The role may require working across various locations and departments within the network, with sufficient notice provided in such cases. 
 As part of the Digital Health team, this role supports systems operating 24/7 and requires participation in an on-call support roster to ensure system availability. While not a frontline clinical role, the position requires out-of-hours support to maintain continuity of essential services.

  1. A qualification in a relevant field, or equivalent industry work experience in a large complex organisation or a combination of study and work experience.
  2. Extensive administration/migration experience in a Windows Server and cloud environment, including server patching, File & Print, Cluster services to the ongoing management of Operating System life cycle, etc.
  3. Extensive experience in large organisation with administration and supporting Citrix and virtualised (VMware and etc) environments. Extensive experience with latest Citrix XenApp/Xen Desktop, WEM, App Layering and Citrix Provisioning Server will be highly regarded.
  4. Experience administering LDAP directory systems protocols such as Microsoft Active Directory and other integrated products such as DNS, group policy, etc.
  5. Demonstrated experience with cyber security requirement and solutions such as anti-virus, multi-factor authentications, web content security, access privileges and control, patch management, data security, application hardening and remote access.
  6. Demonstrated experience with Cloud and Microsoft Infrastructure products such as System Centre Configuration Manager, System Centre Operations Manager, SQL Server, IIS, Azure, and AWS.
  7. Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to work without constant supervision - includes the ability to plan and achieve a variety of tasks; able to prioritise client requests and deal with a number of issues concurrently; good problem solving skills - the ability to identify problems and their cause and develop solutions to meet client needs.
  8. Good verbal and written communication skills - excellent fact-finding skills to gather client requirements, and the ability to write user friendly documentation; the ability to technically translate IT concepts and issues for clients.
