About the Role

Drug Health Services (DHS) aims to reduce the harms associated with substance use for individuals, families and communities and to prevent drug misuse. Our Mission is to deliver evidence based and patient centred care in collaboration with other health and non-health partners to improve the health outcomes of individuals, their families and broader community. Services are provided at Canterbury, Concord Repatriation General and Royal Prince Alfred Hospitals and at Canterbury, Marrickville and Redfern Health Centres. Selected programs offer services in community and via approved outreach arrangements. 

 

You'll work across pre-admission and inpatient units, playing a key role in holistic patient care, clinical assessments, and treatment planning. Enjoy a diverse and rewarding caseload, ongoing professional development, and the opportunity to be part of innovative, evidence-based care models.

Ideal Candidate

  • Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA). 
  • Ability to work a 7 day rotating roster. 
  • Familiarity with CHOC eMR documentation systems (desirable).
  • Ability to perform comprehensive Drug and Alcohol assessments, including relevant screening tools and relapse prevention planning.
  • Proficiency in using Microsoft Teams and other digital communication tools to support collaboration and documentation.
