About the Role
The Burudyara Concord Forensic Rehabilitation Mental Health Unit is a purpose-built, state-of-the-art facility being established as part of the NSW Statewide Mental Health Infrastructure Program. Located on the grounds of the Concord Centre for Mental Health, the Unit will provide rehabilitation for 18 medium secure and 24 low secure forensic mental health patients. Designed with facilities to meet patients where they’re at and support their pathway to recovery and transition back into the community to live meaningful, purposeful lives significantly expanding access to specialised care.
The 22 bedded low secure unit is now being made ready to open in July 2026 and we are looking for registered nurses who are interested in working in a brand-new forensic setting. This is a rare opportunity to be part of a nursing team that can contribute to the development of a landmark service from its inception and shape the future of forensic rehabilitation mental health care in NSW.
The Registered Nurse is responsible for the provision of patient centred; evidence informed nursing care that promotes identified health outcomes. The Registered Nurse will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care in collaboration with individuals and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.

Ideal Candidate
- Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
- Demonstrated understanding of evidence informed practice and critical thinking.
- Has demonstrated knowledge and experience in Mental Health Nursing, with a minimum of two years post-graduate Registered Nurse experience in a Mental Health Setting.
- Previous experience working with forensic patients, desirable but not essential
