About the Role

You will be working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH). It is one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. Our facilities and services are world class and our staff are dedicated, innovative and caring.
 
The Intrapartum Midwifery Unit Manager position works a 12-hour rotating roster to provide in-hours management of Birthing Services and after-hours management cover to the Women and Babies Department. The role is responsible for the operational management and leadership of Midwifery staff to ensure the provision of high-quality patient and family centred care and midwifery and nursing excellence at unit/ward level. The Intrapartum Midwifery Unit Manager is responsible for providing managerial support to the whole of the Women and Babies department out-of-hours, including bed management and patient flow.
 
This position will be working a rotating roster of 12-hour day and night shifts, including weekends. For more information, please view the Position Description.

 

Ideal Candidate

  • Current unencumbered Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA).
  • Extensive post registration experience in a relevant clinical area with clinical management experience in a tertiary/district health care facility.
  • Demonstrated proficient problem solving skills and experience in Performance Development.
  • Demonstrated advanced communication and negotiation skills and experience in conflict resolution.
  • Demonstrated experience in quality management programs.
  • Demonstrated computer literacy skills and competency in the use of clinical information systems.
