About the Role
The Yana Muru Aboriginal Health Worker will form part of a collaborative professional team providing cultural support and care to Aboriginal women and their families in the antenatal period for children up to 5 years of age living within the Sydney Local Health District (SLHD). This will include home visiting and parent support to promote a safe and secure environment for children.

Ideal Candidate
- Applicants must be female and of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander descent, have demonstrated knowledge and understanding of Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander cultures and have established links with their local Aboriginal community.
- Holds a minimum Certificate III qualification in Aboriginal Primary Health Care or relevant qualifications/or experience in an appropriate health related field with a willingness to undertake Certificate 111 in Aboriginal Primary Health Care if needed.
- Holds a valid NSW Driver’s Licence (P1 and P2 licence acceptable) and demonstrates a willingness to travel and work across various Sydney Local Health District facilities and service locations.
This is an Aboriginal identified position, the applicant must be of Aboriginal descent by proof of Aboriginality, identify as Aboriginal and be accepted as such by the community. Being Female and Aboriginality are recognised as a genuine occupational qualifications and are authorised under section 31(2h) and 14 (d) of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1977.
