About the Role

Sydney Local Health District is one of the fastest growing Local Health Districts in New South Wales. Our facilities and services are world class and our staff are dedicated, innovative and caring. 

  

SLHD Security staff are considered a part of the clinical team, performing a vital front line role providing information and support for our patients, consumers, carers and families, in what can be difficult circumstances. 

  

The District Security Manager provides professional leadership and oversight of the Security Staff across SLHD, and in partnership with the SLHD Executive, General Managers, and Security Managers, agrees the strategic direction and governance in relation to campus safety and the minimisation of aggression and harm. This position provides subject matter expertise and advice, leadership, policy management and governance for all security services across the sites and services of SLHD. 

 

The role holder will be leading the SIAT Audit process for SLHD in the second half of 2026.

Ideal Candidate

  • Relevant qualification and/or overall experience in a senior leadership position managing a range of security risks and the implementation of control strategies effectively, in a hospital security related role or similar. 
  • Ability to work at a senior level on policy and project development and implementation; excellent exponent of strategic thinking in the broad framework of a large organisation with multiple services, clients, staff, visitors. 
  • Experience in managing own workload, time and priorities across multiple sites/ locations/ stakeholder groups in order to deliver an appropriate outcome on time. 
  • Current Class 1 Subclasses A and C NSW Security Licence
  • Current First Aid Certificate. 
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable) and a willingness to travel in accordance to the demand of the position.
