About the Role
Community Mental Health Services provide a range of services designed to help support the recovery and help consumer stay well in the community. The team provide specialist services for young people, children and families, adults, and older people. Community mental health services include a specialist Aboriginal Mental Health Team, bilingual mental health workers and Peer Support Workers. Our main sites are at Canterbury, Croydon, Camperdown, Marrickville, and Redfern Community Health Services. The role will be based at Croydon.
The Clinical Nurse Consultant (CNC) provides expert clinical advice to patients, carers and other health care professionals within a defined specialty through the delivery of specialist consultant service which:
- Develops implements and evaluates care management plans for patients with complex health needs
- Provides leadership in the ongoing development of clinical practice
- Initiates and utilises findings of research in the provision of clinical services.

Ideal Candidate
- Current nursing registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Australia (AHPRA) and 5 years full time equivalent post registration experience.
- Holds approved postgraduate qualifications relevant to the specialty or such other qualifications or experience deemed appropriate.
- Proven ability to consult, review, and develop, both new and existing policies and procedures within the relevant speciality.
