About the Role
Sydney Local Health District has a long and proud history of delivering care in the community including prevention, early intervention, assessment, treatment, health maintenance and continuing care services designed to improve and support the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities.
In this role you will provide timely and accurate administrative services particularly for members of the mental health care team under the direction of the Sector Manager.
The Clinical Support Officer (CSO) role will be based with the Community Mental Health Teams and support the work activities of managers and frontline mental health staff. The role will be locally determined by service delivery needs and may provide functions across mental health facilities or to more than one team. The CSO will work closely with existing administrative staff and will complement existing roles, systems and processes in each organisation. The CSO will work under broad supervision but will be required to take some independent action. Scope exists for exercising initiative in the application of established work practices and procedures. Decisions affecting the overall functioning and management of the ward / unit remain the responsibility of the Sector Manager in collaboration with the relevant frontline manager.
Competencies in relation to administrative office duties within a health care setting. The position requires a driver's license and clearance with respect to National Police Check and Working with Children.

Ideal Candidate
- Holds or is willing to undertake a Certificate III in Health Administration or equivalent.
- Good communication skills including customer service skills and an ability to liaise with staff/stakeholders at different levels.
- Experience in computer programs such as word processing, spreadsheet and database software relating to health services.
- Previous experience in a CSO role where have had responsibility for managing roster, managing medical records and administrative tasks to support team is desirable.
- Current NSW Driver's Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
