About the Role
Sydney Local Health District has a long and proud history of delivering care in the community including prevention, early intervention, assessment, treatment, health maintenance and continuing care services designed to improve and support the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities.
The Clinical Psychologist provides psychological services to patients referred to the multidisciplinary Pain Management Programme including psychological assessment and treatment of patients with chronic pain and their families. Implicit in this is the delivery and evaluation of the group Pain Management Programmes.
This position is based with the Pain Services at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) and Concord Repatriation General Hospital (CRGH). Mondays will be at CRGH, and every second Tuesday and Fridays will be at RPAH. This position requires some clinical experience with chronic disease and pain, as well as end of life pain care. Experience with CBT and ACT is required.

Ideal Candidate
- A post graduate degree in Clinical Psychology (Masters, and/or Doctorate or PhD).
- Current registration with AHPRA to practice as a psychologist, endorsement in clinical psychology and eligibility for membership of the Australian Psychological Society (APS) and the Australian Clinical Psychology Association (ACPA).
- Demonstrated ability to work as part of a multidisciplinary team and with a diverse range of patients.
- Experience in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy and its applications.
- Comprehensive understanding of Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and ability to facilitate individual and group programmes utilising this approach.
