About the role

You will be working at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. It is one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. Our facilities and services are world class, and our staff are dedicated, innovative and caring. 
The Clinical Midwife Educator provides support and clinical development/ training to staff while fostering a preceptor/mentor role. The role formulates, coordinates, and evaluates unit based educational programs, assessment and demonstration of clinical procedures.
The aim of the position is to use a participation methodology to build:
  • The capacity of individuals to deliver safe, evidenced based care, incorporating reflective practice with the aim of continual improvement.
  • A woman and family focused culture that supports the MUM and staff to deliver innovative models of care and proactively manage change.
The position contributes to the overall improvement of health service delivery.

Ideal Candidate
  • Current midwife registration with AHPRA
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Midwifery, Education or related field
  • Extensive clinical experience in midwifery practice with a passion for teaching and mentoring
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal
