About the Role 

Rivendell Child, Adolescent and Family Mental Health Services (CAMHS) is committed to improving mental health for people and our communities by providing quality mental health services in partnership with consumers, families and service providers by providing quality healthcare, delivery of safe appropriate care, ensuring access to services, supporting our workforce, and working closely with the local community to manage the changing demand for services. 

The position as leader of the multidisciplinary team, is responsible for the delivery of a range of services to the children and families participating in GOT IT!. This includes the development of behaviour/social skills group for children and the delivery of parenting programs to their parents/carers. 

The clinician will liaise and work closely with educational staff, particularly teachers and student support services staff, and will be expected to provide practical support, education and direction to classroom teachers participating in GOT IT!

Child protection – Child protection is the core responsibility of all who work in the child and adolescent mental health service. All staff are required to have detailed knowledge of and comply with policies and procedures relating to Child Protection and the NSW Health Code of Conduct. All clinicians are responsible for ensuring that identified issues are documented, escalated and action occurs as appropriate.

Ideal Candidate

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant clinical discipline that provide eligibility for registration with AHPRA or membership to relevant professional body, if required. For Allied Health, experience at level 2 or higher.
  • Clinical skills and experience in the assessment of treatment of children and their families presenting with complex mental health needs, using evidence-based approaches.
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
