About the Role
Community Mental Health Services provide a range of services designed to help support the recovery and help consumer stay well in the community. The team provide specialist services for young people, children and families, adults, and older people. Community mental health services include a specialist Aboriginal Mental Health Team, bilingual mental health workers and Peer Support Workers. Our main sites are at Canterbury, Croydon, Camperdown, Marrickville, and Redfern Community Health Services. The role will be based at Croydon.
Provide senior Social Work clinical leadership within the Community Mental Health Core Team, providing social work services including optimisation of patient/client care delivery, as well as supporting the mentoring and development of staff.
The “Community Mental Health Team” (Core Team) is the mainstay of the community mental health system. Core Teams provide a range of clinical services including intake, assessment, consultation, treatment and care coordination.

Ideal Candidate
- Must hold a Bachelor or post graduate degree in Social Work that provides eligibility for full membership of the Australian Association of Social Work (AASW) with experience at Level 2 or higher. Must hold a current NSW Drivers Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
- Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge, skill and significant clinical experience in the provision of Mental health services to complex clients/patients.
- Demonstrated high level verbal, written communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to adapt communication style to suit different audiences.
