About the Role

The opportunity exists for an experienced pharmacist to join the dynamic Pharmacy Team at RPA as the role of Senior Pharmacist, Investigational Drugs Unit. This is a unique position with operational and leadership responsibilities for the efficient conduct of all aspects of clinical trials and investigational drugs at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with clinical trial sponsors and investigators to deliver a high-quality service and is an important member of the Pharmacy Management team contributing to strategic planning for the department. The successful candidate will be required to commit to on-call and weekend work on a rostered schedule. 
 
Royal Prince Alfred Hospital provides a comprehensive range of clinical services to residents of the Sydney Local Health District and has specialised areas of practice in liver, renal and bone marrow transplant, Melanoma therapy, Haematology, Cardiology and Mental Health. The pharmacy department provides clinical trials, outpatients and production unit services and is a leader in the deployment of novel and innovative models of clinical care.

Ideal Candidate

  • Registered as a practicing pharmacist under the Australian Pharmacy Board with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) and able to practice independently.
  • Hospital clinical pharmacy experience and knowledge of the processes governing the conduct of clinical trials with a sound understanding of the regulatory environment in this field.
  • Ability to manage a team and work collaboratively with other stakeholders as well as independently.
  • Ability to work on call, weekends, afterhours and public holidays as required.
