About the Role
To provide clinical and administrative leadership, setting professional standards, assisting with clinical practice development, and coordinating quality and research in Forensic Mental Health Occupational Therapy services in SLHD. The position will work with the multidisciplinary team as a senior clinician, ensuring an efficient and effective occupational therapy service is provided to consumers. The position will also provide a support and advisory role to all stakeholders on the planning and establishment of the Forensic Mental Health Service in SLHD. The post holder will carry a clinical caseload, be responsible for clinical supervision of staff/students, and receive ongoing supervision and support from the Head of Department (or delegate).
Ideal Candidate
- Must hold qualifications recognised for registration with the Occupational Therapy Board of Australia and hold general registration with AHPRA; and hold a current, unrestricted NSW Drivers Licence (P1 and P2 licence acceptable).
- Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge, skill and significant clinical experience in the provision of occupational therapy in mental health and/or forensic mental health services, including a demonstrated working knowledge of the relevant legislation for this caseload.
- Extensive experience and demonstrated ability in building and maintaining professional and therapeutic relationships through the application of written and verbal communication skills, interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills.
