About the Role

Sydney Local Health District has a long and proud history of delivering care in the community including prevention, early intervention, assessment, treatment, health maintenance and continuing care services designed to improve and support the health and wellbeing of individuals and communities. Thi sposition is based at Croydon Health Centre. 

The Senior Community Mental Health Professional is responsible for providing advanced evidence-based, strengths focused, recovery orientated assessment and treatment within a multi-disciplinary team and coordinating consumers’ recovery plans.  The senior role is also responsible for complex clinical decision making, supervision and consultancy to colleagues, Community Managed Organisations, GPs and our community. 


The role will include clinical lead in orientation, induction and mentorship of new clinical staff. 


The role will lead quality improvement activities, clinical supervision and participation in clinical leadership 
responsibilities as required.   


The Mental Health professional will practice in keeping with the standardised Sydney LHD position description for their specific profession in addition to this position description.

Ideal Candidate
 
  • Tertiary qualification in Occupational Therapy or Social work, or post graduate qualification in Psychology (with Area or Practice Endorsement in Clinical Psychology) and extensive specialist experience including a minimum 3 years experience in mental health. Full AHPRA registration (OT) or eligibility for membership to AASW.
  • Demonstrated advanced knowledge of and skills in recovery oriented services and consumer involvement in service design, implementation and evaluation.

     

  • Demonstrated effective written and verbal communication skills, time management and computing skills, and current NSW Drivers Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
