About the Role
You will be based at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH). It is one of the nation’s most respected hospitals, with a distinguished history of serving the health needs of local, statewide, national and international communities. The MGP Midwife will:
- Demonstrate a broad range of midwifery skills and knowledge to provide and coordinate woman-centred, evidence-informed, high quality, midwifery care (consistent with NSW and SLHD policies, procedures and standards) for women enrolled in the MGP and their families across the continuum of pregnancy, birth and postnatal/newborn care.
- Assess, plan, implement and evaluate midwifery care in collaboration with the woman, her family, and the multidisciplinary healthcare team.
Maintain responsibility for personal and professional development by participating in ongoing training/education activities, clinical supervision and performance reviews in order to continuously improve the level and quality of service. - Work with the authority, responsibility and accountability for the achievement and maintenance of quality care and monitoring of outcomes for allocated women.
- Provide support to other staff.

Ideal Candidate
- Registration with AHPRA; availability and capacity to work and participate in an on-call, (24 hour per day/7 day per week) roster across the continuum of care that includes pregnancy, labour, birth and the postnatal period as specified in the Pilot Annualised Salary agreement.
- Current NSW Drivers Licence (P2 Licence Acceptable) and willingness to travel in the course of employment.
- Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively with midwifery and multidisciplinary team members, and apply professional and ethical boundaries.
- Demonstrated ability to proactively engage with pregnant women and their families and to enhance their experience of service delivery.
