Sydney Local Health District (SLHD) is seeking a Post Graduate Fellow to join our team at Royal Prince Alfred Hospital

    

We are looking for a Post Graduate Fellow in Renal Supportive Care! The primary purpose of the role of the Post Graduate Fellow in Renal Supportive Care is to provide program of additional training to develop subspecialty interests in renal supportive care, and to further develop core clinical skills required in this area. The Post Graduate Fellow will have completed advanced training to become a specialist medical practitioner in Renal Medicine or Palliative Care, or have completed specialist training in another discipline relevant to the Fellowship training program. 
 
The Post Graduate Fellow role involves provision of care to renal patients in outpatient clinics (renal supportive care, general renal and palliative care clinics), provide ward bases consults for the renal supportive care (including transplant, dialysis and chronic kidney disease patients), as well as home visits. Renal Supportive Care is a growing service that provides an alternative treatment pathway to renal replacement therapies for frail, older patients, as well as assistance for symptom management, end of life care planning and psychosocial support for chronic kidney disease and dialysis patients. This senior role works across RPA Hospital and Concord Hospital and is designed to work closely with consultants in renal medicine and palliative care to ensure the smooth running of the Renal Supportive Care program, which is a MoH Leading Better Value Care (LBVC) initiative.
 
The Post Graduate Fellow will provide high quality clinical care, diagnostic and consultative specialty services in renal supportive care at the level of a Post Graduate Fellow, and participate in teaching, research, quality improvement and administrative activities within the Renal Medicine Department and Royal Prince Alfred Hospital (RPAH) and Concord Repatriation General Hospital (CRGH) as required. They will ensure high standards of professional performance and contribute to an academic environment which supports education, research and professional development.
   
The successful applicant will be registered, or eligible for registration, with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA), and Fellowship of the Royal Australasian College of Physicians (FRACP) with recognised qualifications in Renal Medicine and/or other equivalent specialist recognition as provided for in the NSW Staff Specialists (State) Award. (Note: Applicants expecting to be awarded their Fellowship prior to, or within three months of the expected commencement date, may be considered.)
  
Salary and conditions are in accordance with the NSW Staff Specialist (State) Award.
