About the Role

Drug Health Services (DHS) aims to reduce the harms associated with substance use for individuals, families and communities and to prevent drug misuse. Our Mission is to deliver evidence based and patient centred care in collaboration with other health and  non-health partners to improve the health outcomes of individuals, their families and broader community. Services are provided at Canterbury, Concord Repatriation General and Royal Prince Alfred Hospitals and at Canterbury, Marrickville and Redfern Health Centres. Selected programs offer services in community and via approved outreach arrangements.

  

The Patient Safety and Quality Manager provides leadership across the Drug Health Services program to ensure the principles of patient safety and quality improvement are embedded at an organisational level with the aim of providing high quality, safe and cost-effective patient care. This includes preparing services for accreditation, coordinating incident management, leading clinical investigations, advising on quality assurance and quality improvement processes, directing policy framework, managing patient experience processes and coordinating complaints management.

  

The Patient Safety and Quality Manager must demonstrate the necessary degree of clinical knowledge, expertise, and experience to influence and guide clinicians. This position will provide leadership, authority, and delegation to influence clinical practice changes in relation to accreditation, patient safety and quality issues across Drug Health Services.

Ideal Candidate

  • Degree in relevant health related field or equivalent experience, with relevant Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) registration if required. 
  • Demonstrated experience in patient safety, incident management and incident investigation methodologies, including Serious Adverse Event Review (SAER).
  • High-level writing skills with experience in producing policy documents, reports, briefs, ministerial correspondence, presentations, and other documentation. 
  • Current NSW Drivers Licence (P1 and P2 acceptable).
