About the Role
Sydney Education is the education and training service for Sydney Local Health District (SLHD). Sydney Education offers over 300 courses per year and has a comprehensive range of both clinical and non-clinical courses and programs using technology to improve access to professional development and to provide high fidelity learning environments. We are a delivery site of the NSW Health RTO which means that we can offer our staff Nationally Recognised qualifications.
Sydney Local Health District is seeking an experienced and dynamic Nurse Educator Grade 3 to lead and expand renal dialysis education across the District. This newly regraded position builds upon the foundation of the Nurse Educator Grade 1 role previously based at RPAH and supports the ongoing development of high-quality renal services District-wide.
Role Highlights:
- Drive the standardisation and enhancement of workforce education in renal dialysis
- Lead and implement a structured education framework to support safe, effective patient care
- Support staff capability building and ongoing professional development
- Ensure consistent, high-quality training to minimise adverse patient outcomes across SLHD renal units

Ideal Candidate
- Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioners Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as Registered Nurse/Midwife and relevant post registration nursing/midwifery clinical or education qualifications or qualifications deemed equivalent by the employer.
Demonstrated commitment to professional development of self and others including reflective practice and the ability to identify areas for growth.
- Comprehensive understanding of health education and training priorities at a local and state level.
- Significant education experience including the development, delivery and evaluation of education strategies, projects and initiatives based on identified needs and priorities.
Experience in a senior role with leadership responsibilities and demonstrated skills in consultation, negotiation, facilitation, coaching and mentoring, leading projects or significant workplace change including the engagement of multiple stakeholders.
