About the Role
The Medical Workforce Governance Officer in SLHD Executive Medical Services effectively manages workflows and provides administrative support to the SLHD Medical and Dental Appointments Advisory Committee and its subcommittees, and for designated medical professional committees. They will work collaboratively with a large range of stakeholders, building sound working relationships and providing interpretation/advice on required procedures, whilst prioritising activities according to most pressing need and with a focus on impact for staff and patient care. They will provide a high standard of support services in a timely, customer focused and resource efficient manner to meet SLHD needs.
Availability to work part-time (0.75FTE to 0.85FTE) Monday to Friday is preferred; however, consideration may be given to working four days per week within the required FTE.

Ideal Candidate
- High level (verbal and written) communication skills coupled with exceptional interpersonal skills, including providing committee support eg. minute taking, drafting of briefs, letters and reports, at the standard of Executive and/or Board level.
- Ability to manage complex processes according to strict policy standards in the management of Medical Workforce governance and management, including capability to develop local procedures to support these policies and to provide interpretation/advice to stakeholders and customers as required.
- Detail orientation with exceptional organisational and task management skills with the ability to work independently, as well as in team, with proven capacity to organise and prioritise to meet deadlines whilst building strong relationships with key stakeholders internal and external to SLHD, in a high-volume demanding environment.
- Understanding of, or ability to develop understanding of governance of the Senior Medical Workforce in NSW, with the ability to interpret relevant legislation, policy, and within the context of the role, and to effectively escalate any matters to Executive line management.
- Holds a current driver licence (P1 and P2 licence acceptable), and willingness to travel to and from work from other facilities as required.
